BF3 hackers?

Fri Jul 06, 2012 1:04 pm

  • Hey guys, I was going to buy the game until i started reading on forums and all I see are topics complaining about the hackers, how real is the hacker problem?
Does it justify not geting the game, or are they tolerable?

    Regards,

Lenin, supreme overlord and commander of glorious Soviet Union?

  • Cheaters are really not a major issue.
Punk Buster will render most of them and kick them out.
Rarely are they ahead of Punk Buster. Occasionally, but not often.

The most vicious issue with the game has nothing to do with it's playability.
The main issue with the game is that the patches have nerfed the weapons beyond reason due to
the many whiners who somehow think that if you emulate World Class Weapons in a Cartoon game that they shouldn't behave like the weapon they emulate. In other words, Cotton Ball bullets are what the whiners want rather than quick kills.

All that in addition to the numerous lies which EA pushed to the gaming community and have offered no explanation or reasoning for their deceitfullness.
i.e. "This game is a direct sequel to Battlefield 2."
This is a lie. It isn't even close to anything like Battlefield 2.

"We will never charge for more maps and extras with Battlefield 3."
This is a lie. They already offer a Premium Package which includes several more items as well as map packs to be released over time.

There is probably a 20 item list of lies somewhere in the Battlelog Forums so I won't list them all here.

    But bottom line is:
The game is fun, despite it's many shortcomings and worth playing.

  • You'll have to open Origin and click on the Help Link or Button. Then you have an option to use a Live Chat tool. Hopefully they can help you.

There also may be some useful info on the Battlelog Forums.

  • Mine suddely stopped working around May, early June, it starts, then says bf3.exe stopped working or something like that, and it crashes to destkop, I re-installed twice, and went to live support 3 times, they all say something different, and nothing worked, I'll try to re-install again one of those days.

  • Lenin the ratio of hackers to good guys are just the same as there was in bc2. But since bf3 is a bigger community there will be more hackers and more whiners. So I wouldnt worry. Ive only seen 2 so far and they were from the same server were hackers seem to be of an abundance.
And for my problems I go to EA support. Then I follow the steps and it will lead me either to a readable solution or a online chat with an EA dude.

  • Make sure that you purchase the "Limited Edition" because that will include the Back To Karkand expansion maps.
Otherwise you will have to pay an additional $14.99 to get the expansion, if I am correct.
And then I may be totally wrong as the Limited Edition was only available for Pre-Purchase.
    Hell I don't know.
EA is so confusing with their ideas on where their business model is going.

EA will also on occasion have a 1/2 off sale on the game.
I am surprised they have not already done so with BF3. Maybe they have? Not sure.
Maybe Bomber or someone may know...

One interesting tid-bit is that out of the Fifteen Million Units of the game which have been retailed,
a mere Eight-Hundred Thousand bought into the Premium Package.
    That's 5 percent.
And EA posted that it was a success. (?) Again just more confusing messages coming from EA.

Problem is most who have been with the franchise as players for so many years have been chapped with all this recent hooplah with EA's bullcrap and are leaving the game.

I am going to play the game as time permits and then when I rank out I am done with EA products, unless they really make some serious changes with how they relate to the Gaming Community.

I am pretty sure they did it 1 or 2 times, for 25-35 euros

  • EA will always have sales. They are a very tempting company. With premium there will still be premium only weapons to come.
Btw just unlocked the M417. It is definitely the best sniper rifle in the game.
Low recoil, fast RoF, 21 rounds a mag

  • in the end, EA is shit and wont solve crap, so im going to buy it and karkand at G2play, since bf3 only costs 36 bucks there with karkand its a totla of 51 which is still cheaper than only BF3 on origin...
