  • That would be listed in my top 10 "worst things that could ever happen to you."
Is there any evidence to get a new one for free?

That sucks. Define lost- It was lost in the mail en route to MSI, I take it? I'm sure this isn't the pre-ship kind of lost like "might be under a pile of laundry" lost? lol

    I took that sentence as:
The card died during the rebuild, which made him pissed and now he's in the RMA process.

  • Yea I am thinking static electricity, though I didnt think video cards were that sensitive to it, thought it was mainly RAM, either way I took the proper precautions of grounding myself each and every time I reached in there, dont know how it happened, even put the damn thing in an anti static bag when it was out.

Its either that or it fried upon first start up on a new motherboard....

regardless, I am just glad I still had my 250GTS sitting in the house so I can use that til I get my hopeful replacement

  • I hope MSI treats you well. Lifetime warranty? These are the times that define the quality of a manufacturer. How they take care of you on the back end. EVGA hooked me up with better card a few years back on a RMA... only one i've ever done. Good luck.

Grounding? I've never ground myself when working on a computer and have never had a problem. Guess there's always that possibility though.
